Today—my “book birthday” (as publicist extraordinaire Jessica Glenn calls it)—is almost over. April 27, National Tell a Story Day, is the official release day for Word Up! How has it gone?
The book hit #60 on the Amazon bestseller list of books in the writing/grammar category. Not a bad start.
And I enjoyed meeting Word Up! enthusiasts Keith Kmett and Ed Borasky on a spontaneous Google+ Hangout on Air. (Below is a screenshot; we didn’t record the video.) So we got goofy. It’s a day to celebrate. When can you wear a tiara if not on the day your book launches?
Never heard of a Google+ Hangout on Air. How does that work?

People who have (free) Google+ accounts can click a button to create a Hangout (a video chat) with up to nine people. Lots of other people can listen in beyond those nine. I set mine up spontaneously. People often schedule them for larger groups. If the initiator also has a YouTube account, the whole thing can be recorded and saved–and shared just like any other YouTube video. (I didn’t record this one.)
