Yesterday, IndieReader, “the essential consumer guide to self-published books and the people who write them,” announced the winners of the 2014 IndieReader Discovery Awards—including third-place winner for nonfiction overall: Word Up!
IndieReader founder Amy Edelman made the announcements at Book Expo America, an annual book trade show in New York City. Helping Edelman give out the awards was CJ Lyons, a New York Times and USA Today bestselling indie author of twenty-one novels and the first indie named to the Authors Guild. The winning titles were chosen for their writing quality and originality by judges from various areas of the publishing industry.
